It is really important that the council are aware of local people's views as they consider the application. Supporting the application only takes a minute:
Send an email to [email protected] - you will need to include the application reference number (PLAN/2020/0568) and your name and address for your comments to be counted.
Feel free to write as much, or as little, as you like. These are the key reasons why we think the application should be supported:
The development will a create a new, pedestrianised green space in Goldsworth Road, providing important outdoor space and a place for people to relax and socialise.
The plans will deliver 929 new homes for Woking, including 48 much-needed affordable homes and family housing.
In response to local feedback, the height of the tallest building has been reduced by four storeys - bringing it into line with the previous scheme for the south side of Goldsworth Road, which the council voted to approve in 2016.
New, flexible commercial spaces at ground floor level, creating jobs and opportunities for local businesses and driving footfall in this part of Woking.
The scheme includes a new, purpose-built facility for the York Road Project, designed in collaboration with the charity.
Woking Railway Athletic Club will also be provided with new replacement facilities.
Car parking, including electric vehicle charging points, will be provided in line with council guidelines.
The development has been designed to complement Victoria Square and provide improved links for pedestrians and cyclists from the town centre to the west of Woking.
